“Ozark” is a crime drama series created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams. The show premiered on Netflix in 2017 and has four seasons.

The story follows Marty Byrde (played by Jason Bateman), a financial planner who is forced to relocate his family from Chicago to the Ozarks in Missouri. Marty’s life is turned upside down when he becomes involved in a money laundering scheme for a Mexican drug cartel. In order to save his family’s lives, he agrees to launder millions of dollars for the cartel in the Ozarks.

Marty’s wife, Wendy (played by Laura Linney), is initially resistant to the move but eventually becomes involved in the scheme herself. The couple’s two children, Charlotte (played by Sofia Hublitz) and Jonah (played by Skylar Gaertner), also struggle to adjust to their new surroundings.

As Marty tries to keep his illegal activities hidden from the authorities and the local community, he becomes embroiled in a power struggle with local criminals and politicians. He also faces challenges within his own family as his relationship with Wendy becomes increasingly strained and his children start to question their parents’ actions.

Throughout the series, “Ozark” explores themes of morality, family dynamics, and the consequences of criminal behavior. The show is known for its tense and suspenseful plot twists, as well as its strong performances from the cast.

The fourth and final season of “Ozark” was released on Netflix in 2022. The season concludes the story of the Byrde family as they navigate the dangerous world of money laundering and organized crime in the Ozarks.
